KALINAGO CHIEF ELECTONS

The P.D.M congratulates you, Chief Garnet Joseph, on your resounding victory at yesterday’s polls for Chief of the Kalinago people. We note that this is the second time your people have elected you to that position.

We have no doubt that over the next five years you will represent the best interests of the Kalinago people, including -

to bring jobs and opportunities for self-employment to the Territory;
to eradicate the disease of poverty there;
to extend the physical boundaries of the Territory;
to set up a facility for residents to access loans with little or no security;
and to return to our Kalinago brothers and sisters the pride and dignity that were systematically taken away by the European conquest, by centuries of colonial rule and by the worst aspects of local administration under Associate Statehood and National Independence.

Our Party, while in Opposition, trusts that a way can be found for us to work with your Council and you on matters of common interest.

And we guarantee that as Government of our country better days will come to the Kalinago people.
